the first girl
the day i met her
was the most terrifying of my life.
her eyes looked like little worlds
and were bursting with justas much life.
the apples on her cheeks were sinful temptations picked
from the tree of forbidden fruit itself
roughed and bright like suns
her scarlet tinted lips liked
the rays of sunshine that was her smile
her perfect nose was smooth and curved like a ski slope
and the freckles that dotted it seemed to morph into connstellations
that mirrored the night sky.
her hair cascaded down her shoulders in a lush,
spiraling auburn waterfall
and her laugter was the base
uniting the sounds around us into this
symphony no one but us would ever hear.
her mind was a museum
and i wanted to spend days on end at each individual exhibit
each individual thought and dream and fear she kept locked inside
she flowed like a river
but she was strong like a fire
oh god, she was perfect
and it was terrifying
because i was in love
with
her
