First Impressions

I saw you. I heard you. I disliked you.

You were rude. You were inconsiderate. You thought your remarks were private for the listening pleasures of your selected audience.

You were in fact mistaken.

You were arrogant, pig-headed, and made me mad.

You hurt my pride.

These remarks did not go unnoticed by me. They are present in my mind. Every time you speak your past remarks come back to life as though uttered for the first time. Your kind deeds somehow seem out of character for you.

I may not be as handsome as others. I may not have the same dowry. I am well read, loved by my family, and believe somewhat in you.

Yours truly,

Ms. Elizabeth
