First Line, Last Line

Before I go,

Lets have one last look

Filing away painful memories

Trying, struggling

With the past that we've tangled,

Weaved together so tightly

Suddenly cut by unforgiving metal.

What a strange feeling--being away from something you've been with

For what seems like forever and a day

Now the words are biting

Filled with lonliness and need

We're helping each other build a wall to

Divide us

I take back everything I said.
