First Love

Dear C, from that very first day

Just about one year ago,

You took my heart from me

And you still have not let it go.

We have been on and off,

Just talking every now and then.

I have tried to move on,

But every time we talk, the feelings come back again.

We have admitted our feelings,

And we both feel the same.

So why can’t we just be happy,

Instead of playing this stupid game.

Everyday I fall deeper in love,

And I can tell that you do too.

I wish love wasn’t so difficult,

Because then maybe we’d have a clue.

Now there are decisions

That I must make,

And with that I choose to go away

With which my heart I will take.

I will always love you

Please do not forget.

But also, do not worry

It is not the end yet.

You get to move on

And find someone new,

Or maybe someday

I’ll get to come back to you.

Sincerely,

The girl whose heart you stole on that day one year ago.
