First Love

I’ve been swimming for a long time

Searching for the one Island to call my own

I never thought I would find one.

But how could I have known that you’d appear across the horizon?

I thought you were just a mirage

Little did I know that you were all too real.

When I started to get closer to you I only realized how much more

I wanted to reach your shore

But good things never last

A storm destroyed everything scaring your natural beauty

It ruined what you thought of me.

It threw me so far away I thought there was no way I would find you again

I've been swimming for a long time

Searching for an Island that is just like you

I’ll never find one like you again

I guess I’ll just keep swimming.
