First Love

Amatory storms casting trouble on our voyage.
Footless syllables like cadences
in this far from emollient lullaby.
The ship is sinking two feet from the shore,
but you're too busy simplifying;
subtracting from the equation that holds the stage.
Addling dances in resplendent costumes
reeling me in, a fish from the river.
More water; more water!
You prefer to surround me in your protean crystals of black
as i gasp for attention,
security,
encouragement,
affection,
compassion,
empathy,
kindness,
warmth.
One day i will instead gasp in all that is life,
and you will be missing.
