First Love
the snow fall is beautiful
a white christmas dream
it looks cold a barren
but it’s warmer than it seems
the flakes flutter down
and land on my nose
i have to enjoy it
before it all goes
some say it’s a nuisance
it covers their cars
but i see it glistening
just like the stars
i don’t want it to go
the sun comes out beaming
it’s rays are aggressive
the tears start streaming
i clutch armfuls to me
i don’t want it to go
i want to protect it
my dear, precious snow
the sun shine won’t stop
i fall to the ground
it’s fast disappearing
my heart starts to pound
i forgot life without it
i’m scared of the heat
i’m not ready for summer
i fear what i’ll meet
