The First Man I Never Loved

Dear Dad,

They always say your father is suppose to be their daughter’s first love.

You were my first heartbreak.

Apparently you thought I needed AA:

Abuse and Abandonment.

I never had a real shot at having a father in my life because you only cared about online

dating, drinking, and video games. You said you cared about me, but where are you now?

I have people contacting me looking for you... you must have done something bad.

I don’t have a good memory of you.

No smiles.

No laughs.

No jokes.

No nothing but tears.

But it’s okay now.

I no longer think of you, dream of you or speak of you. My heart has healed and I am

stronger. You’re a coward hiding in a dark shadow and I can’t seem to find you.

It’s time to move on.
