To the first ones I loved
To the first ones I loved,
You had the audacity to tell me
to stop talking to them, like if I talked to them it was a sin.
Now you tell me
that you wish it had worked out between me and him.
You wish it had worked out between me and him.
You wish it had worked out between me and him.
You were the reason we didn’t work out.
Because I couldn’t talk to them
like it was a sin.
we didn’t work out.
Don’t speak to me about him,
when I couldn’t even speak to him.
*
To the first ones I loved,
There are no more people to blame,
Not me, not him,
Try every equation, the answer is the same.
To the first ones I loved,
When did God say that love was a sin?
He didn’t break my heart,
And all the fights you choose, it’s not a win.
To the first ones I loved,
I don’t have a heart anymore
Why can’t you let me be happy?
Just let me love him.
Please.
*
To the first ones I loved,
If you do this, I will never love again.
If you say no, I will give up.
Keep doing what you’re doing,
I won’t complain.
*
To the first ones I loved,
In a few years, when you look back on the happiness that she used to have;
when you wonder where you went wrong, when you blame her for overreacting,
think about how many times you made her break her heart.
Remember your daughter while she’s happy,
that time is short.
*
To the first ones she loved,
She doesn’t have a heart to love you,
Not anymore.
