The First Snowflake

I was falling. Moments ago mere vapor encased in ice among others like me. Then I moved. Bumping into others, trying to navigate a stop. Soon I could no longer see the others. They were moving, But I was faster. Below me I saw things rising from the ground, blocking my path, making me dodge. My arms began to expand, slowing my fall. Well, it was supposed to slow my fall. but the green flatness approached rapidly. I hit the green soundlessly, followed by others, each of us different and the same. But I was the first.
