The First Step
There she sits with her eyes on the board,
wondering why teachers are such bores,
"yes we get it, 1+1 equals two,
and one of the primary colors is blue,
Didn’t we learn it this week?
I don’t see a need to repeat."
Sadly, for her it’s too late,
but she wishes to see a change,
in the educational systems we have today
how do they expect us to succeed
when they only gives us what we need,
She proposes a cure,
They should challenge their students,
by giving them a higher level of quality work,
Instead of giving them time to look up videos on “how to twerk”,
This is the only chance they get at a free education,
wouldn’t it be nice to see some appreciation?
She wants to succeed in life,
not for being someone’s wife
she wants to discover the unknown,
as much as she wants to be known,
Not by her appearance or her façade,
but for her success,
She is petrified for the road in which she will travel,
but there is one thing that keeps her stabled,
her parents and her peers will be marveled
at the accomplishments this girl had.
