First Stop

In a forest of a thousand trees, all identical in species, and size, who is a late bloomer, then? The ones with sun, reaching higher; They sprout leaves to rescue us from the clutches of winter: the first hint at life from the gray. But the ones in their shadows, the late ones, persist to our eyes, a last stand against the outro- the fading of the light.
