The First Sunset

Cotton candy clouds roll

Behind the dusky blue mountaintops

One moment

All is soft pink. The next

Somber blue leads the way.

The saturation of this photo turns to grey

As the sun moves on

While I sit on a stairwell,

Eye-level with the trees,

Giddy with the excitement that we are

Away.
