First thing to pop in my head.

The blacker the berry the sweeter the juice

I'd rather drown in a 100 proof

Because whats the use

I hear you talking but that don't move me, it wont do me no good

I ain't from the hood

Been seen the consequence fo the lifestyle

Life of trial, white folks got the power

Boy, Im already shackled so I don't need you to hold me down

I already told you that I rather drown, because I ain't never seen euphoria

No podiums, just benches

My brothers stuck in the trenches, Byron Leftwich with the distance

'04 Pistons with the pimpin, and storytelling is a tradition

So what I've seen hear today Ima tell it to my children

I wish knowledge was power, Cole world, I been gettin high for hours

What if they never crashed the towers, Would we stop and smell the flowers

Bask in the sun, wasn't trapped at my job all day, maybe play catch with my son

Maybe if we knew where we were from we wouldn't have anywhere to run

Chicago typewriter with the drum, boy I had to get me one, I'm just a raisin in the sun

Mama raised me off the crumbs
