The First Time
The time I first saw you… I was six years younger
The best sight I had from that makeshift church
I took your words and attached them to you
You, the only one whose voice I heard from the choral
The only figure that excited me, made me feel holy
Then, you shook my spirit…..
The first time I made a perfect guess
And I couldn’t wait to just confirm how right I was, that once…
Then, you had braided your hair;
Exposing your perfectly un-edited cover
Let them rest peacefully on your back
A back that gracefully carried tones of pain
Pain that made me want to love you and not want to hurt you
Pain that in eventuality; made you addicted to me
Then, all your replies in our conversations came in capital letters,
And those letters, explained your unending infliction
Those letters made me feel someone’s pain for the first time
That first time looking at you, I did not only see moist eyes
Probably about to drain a river down your cheeks
I did not see you wondering why I chose you…
I saw someone who would finally understand a troubled me
The first time I saw you was the last time I deeply thought
The time I knew the definition of demotic romance
The last time I ever cast a doubt if we’d make it
Six years later,
The first time I’m completely satisfied having you
The time your attention is totally directed to our future
The time I moved my last piece, in my last game
The first time you bear a heir, adopt my last name
The last time you become comparable…
