The first time you made me cry
Dear boy I thought I loved,
The first time you made me cry was when
We first fell in love.
I fell in love with you
And you fell in love with her
Don't get me wrong, I knew it wasn't meant
to be
But nonetheless, you kept returning to me.
You kept coming to me.
I closed myself off because I was sure you'd
change your mind and return
You did return but only to rub it in my face
that you were happy
And so I moved on, painfully and broken, I
did it.
And now you come back to me realizing I
was always the right one for you
But now, I love myself enough to know that
you will only be a memory and a stepping
stone to discovering who I am.
Thank you.
For breaking my heart.
For lying to me.
For making me experience emotions alien
to me.
Thank you for making me realize that I am
worth much more than the price tag you
decided to put on me the day you met me.
Best Regards,
Paulina Diaguero
