Fish Don't Drown

My heart is a stone

Weighing me down

It pulls me through the barrier

And my execution begins.

I am not a fish

Though this is my only wish.

Unaware of much

They are truly living

Calm and unfeeling

For all we know at least.

But I don't have gills

And the barrier is out of reach

So I drown

Even though I am still breathing.
