Fish On A Fishing Hook
Dear Friend,
I want you to know how much you mean to me
You run to my rescue
When I am down and no one can see
However there is one flaw to you, dear friend
It’s the fact that your personality can change at a moments end
One day you will call me needing me to pay you time
But others you ignore me like I was some fish at the end of the fishing line
I get you have a life
And I do too
However why do I keep running back
When I know I mean nothing to you
Because here’s the truth dear friend
If I really did matter
If I really was worth the time
If I really was your best friend
Why would you put my heart out on the line
Why would you keep sending me false hope
For a sister
For a friend
When I know you’ll just turn your back again
And ill just be trying to cope
With the loss of my friend once again
But I meant nothing to you my dear friend
Except for a distraction when you and your boyfriend were nearing an end.
So you might ask why I continue to suffer through the pain
And through the hurt
And through the vein
Well here’s the truth. Dear Friend
I’m still here because you mean the world to me
And whether you feel the same or not
Continues to baffle me
And so here I am torn between two sides
Whether I should stay with you
Or if I should hide
But getting rid of you is not as easy as it looks
Due to all the time I spent being the fish on your hook
You played me
You hurt me
You saved me
You needed me
But through all of this I failed to see
How all of my problems were do to thee
Because here is a reality check dear friend
You can lie
You can cheat
And you can play
However once you play with the fish on the line
You may be surprised to see
Wings appear on the back of the fish
Setting it free from its hurt and misery.
