Fisherman's Wife

Life was an embodiment of pigsties and white lies,
So I yearned for more and more,
Keeping my eyes on the prize
Knowing my success was corruption in disguise.
They call me a monster created by greed, and I won't deny.
I reached the top just to fall back once more.
But truely this is no surprise,
Only the unfortunate can empathize.

The vagrants and the poor are who I speak for.
Because no one will hear our cries,
We try and try until trying is what makes us die.
By the almighty we are despised.
And by the almighty, I'm talking about the rich guys.
We are nothing but the damned in their eyes.
