Fishermen

I live in a world of fishermen.

Tall, gangly creatures that cast our thin lines of trust each morning into the crowded sea of people.

Patiently they wait.

Waiting with wonderous welcomful words of hope you get that big break. They wait for the chattering minnows to pass, spit and pride covered words getting caught in conversation. Patiently they wait.

They wait for the bass to come out of the dark weeds of their office. Wait for them to take the bait of business ideas, opportunities, dreams.

 Patiently they wait.

They wait for something big to latch onto that hook of passion. The one that will bring them the days catch. Some days they get no catch. Some days the line breaks.

Yet patiently they wait.

Every morning coming out to continue fishing for their dreams.

I aspire to be like the fishermen, able to keep going even when the bait is lost, the line is lost. The fishermen continue to be the dreamers that keep the pond of success populated.

I hope to be a fishermen.

Tossing out my line

Patiently I wait.
