Five
Five, oh five, oh five, oh five,
You are the king of my mathematical life.
You make chemistry less cry-worthy
As I just count you off,
But I don’t like you so much
When you wake me up in the morning.
When I go to eat ice cream,
I say, “Five scoops please,”
Because anything less than you
Would just simply be insulting.
I can count the most important reasons
For why I love the sky,
Simply by displaying my fingers
And letting you do the conducting.
And with you by our side,
All of my close friends and I
Can go to the amusement park and go for a ride
That no more than five is the seating.
You’re always there on my side
For when my mom asks, “How old are you?”
I can reply, “Why, Mom, I’m five!”
With a face that is always smiling.
This is why five, oh five,
You are the one and only
King of my mathematical life.
