A Fix For Repairs

at the start when i met you
i could see the scars
from the submission prior
to building what you are

and then you spoke and i saw
familiar soul bound
a haunting weakness exposed
across the shambling ground

you were a tragic hero
holding hell below
and waiting to be consumed
in your next afterglow

you told the frightening tales
the ways you had died
the worst things i imagine
would be things you had tried

the devil was at the door
when day turned to night
and confiding in your friends
stood ready at your side

but you were betrayed, broken
were you made to fail?
locked in with that snarling ghost
'til you lose all your trails

you crumble in your shadow
i tread in your wake
and watch you glowing brighter
with every fix you take

sure it won't affect your work
this grotesque affair
but why are you so eager
to destroy what you repair?
