Fixing Him

he used to do drugs

he used to be sad

until I fixed him

i gave him my happiness

loved him more than myself

and kissed away his pain.

now, he tells me

that he gets drunk on

straight vodka

on friday afternoons

he doesn’t mention

his new girlfriend

even though I know about her.

I am far away

and I can’t fix him again

i wish i could

but maybe she can

she that is now closer

that now receives your kisses

can she fix you?

i hope she can but

I guess not

or you wouldn’t be

getting so drunk

so often

I can’t fix you again

i  can’t fix anyone

but I miss you

and i still love you

more than myself

so just tell me

that you’re okay

Just tell me that

you’re

happy
