Fixéd Star

Truth - a fixéd star

Shining out against the dark,

And wading through the murky seas-

Of seasoned unrealities…

Truth reaches where no one else dare go-

Lest they find there’s really hope,

And must forsake all.

For if the truth is really real-

Men would perhaps feel-

Confronted with their evil pasts,

And facing fire that lasts

They would see eternity closing in,

And finding no strength within-

Would choose to believe.

For the dividing line-

Where good and evil are defined-

Runs not through lands or classes or races-

Nor is affected by sex or faces,

But runs through the heart of every man-

Whether when he’s tested he falls or stands

The war is in his heart.
