This Flame

The flame as it flickers vividly bright.
Sending soothing signals in the night.
How warm I feel when it is lit.
A gentle light, in my heart it sits.
And so I gaze at this flickering light.
It dances forth in my heart so bright.
From a candle set upon my desk.
I watch it as I play my Burgmuller’s “Arabesque.”
