THE FLAME THAT BURNS HALF AS LONG

This flame was gently lit

This flame burned just a little bit

This feeling wasn't that of pain and sorrow

This feeling was joy to my soul

This flame was a spirit I couldn’t let go

With this flame I had light during my darkest nights

With this flame I went left but somehow it guided me right

This flame brought me out of my dark places

This flame gave me a joyful sensation

This flame brought me peace and led me to my bed

This flame didn’t have the normal colors of purple, blue and red

This flame had the oddly beautiful colors of purple and white

This flame had the most pure light

As soon as I found my way the flame went out

This flame took away all my doubts

The flame that burns has as long burns twice as bright

So I’m at peace to kiss this flame good night
