Flame Of Impurities

Flame Of Impurities b

by t.a.mayes

I do not remember a time of ever not being in turmoil
Never grasping onto any kind of cerebral peace
A constant wave of negativity and painful energy
Always pulsing throughout my body and my soul
Created in the mind Created from an environment
In which I could not then and can not now exert control
Every cell, every atom feverishly bouncing about
Every electron, muon, and tau particle that forms this being
Has been immersed and over saturated in impurities
Impurities of the mind, body and my soul that cling
An oily residue built up over decades of harmful living
Today I light the wick of spirituality and begin to heal
Burning off the parraffin of impurities slowly…steadily
Until the soul is once again clean to ignite the Divine
