Flames
Their love began with a single look
Like the first page of an opened book.
They easily stole a single glance,
Giving true love a final chance.
A flame was ignited with suffocating desire,
And slowly the flames grew higher and higher.
Together they began to fight the fire.
Slowly and surely they stared to learn,
Much like the flame that continued to burn.
They built a life full of hopes and dreams,
Filled with the unity of the strongest teams.
The fire rose higher, consuming their beams.
Throughout the years their love continued to grow,
Until the lonely day a cold wind began to blow.
A light scent wafted through a window near,
Then her eye found a final tear.
Finally the love had ceased to sear.
She turned away, glancing over her shoulder.
Her life now included a tremendous boulder.
She approached the bridge without an ounce of shame.
Her descent drowned out the final flame.
She never even knew her name.
