Flames
Flames
We made Gods of ourselves
Being something we could never reach
Keep your head down low
Washed up, rung out, on a beach
They told you they could fix your bow
Well I'm telling you, all they do is leech
They took your weapon all you had in tow
Washed up, rung out, lying on a beach
This fire in our souls won't burn out slowly
Stay close to what makes you alive
Because who we claim, we aren't holy
There's nowhere we can hide
From the demons we keep locked inside
The fire inside burned our souls
So now we dance on our emptied graves
Certainly, after all we've been through
Some would call us brave
In this world we live in of so many flaws
We made Gods out of ourselves
It was the only way we saw
Freeing ourselves from the sinking
Predecessors want our heads, it's all one big game
We were drowning in the ocean
Hoping to put out the flames
We were goners
Invincible, though they are the only ones to blame
We never asked for all this when we were born
In this world hate and deceit
Where Hypocrisy and bigotry are the norm
We just wanted to sleep
The flames kept us up, burned us too deep
So we did the only thing we knew how to do
We put on a mask and we
We made Gods out of ourselves
We were Gods
We were Gods
We feel immortal we got powers
And tonight we feel immortal
We've got our strong minds
Electric veins and gold binds
And we feel immortal
