Flashes
I cower
I hide
I shiver
To the fear, I can't subside
I cover my ears
I slip under the covers
I close my eyes
I tremble as it thunders
Even behind my lids
I see the flashes
Behind my lids
The lightning dashes
Behind my lids
The ground shakes
Behind my lids
The earth quakes
Behind my lids
He steps to my side
Behind my lids
In just a few strides
Behind my lids
He grabs my arm
Behind my lids
With no alarm
Another flash
Another lightning dash
Another shake
Another terrifing quake
Another tremble
Another wimper
A different hold
A move so bold
I press into his chest
I felt a jolt
I become ridgid
He was the King of the Lightning Bolt
I was no longer petrified
Another flash
I now felt pride
Another lightning dash
I was no longer under the covers
Another shake
I didn't care about the thunder
Another rumbling quake
The King looks down
Another jolt
His head beholds a crown
Another lightning bolt
His breath is a low rumble
Another jolt
My mind stumbled
Another lightning bolt
He took my hand
But a calling, not a demand
He took me into the stormy night
Filled with flashing lights
Looking across the tierra
"Let's go home, Hera"
