Flashing Summer

“Baby just relax”

The camera flashed, flick flick

Warm winds flowed through my hair

My back against the angel statue

The flicking silenced

A summer once clear, shattered

Phone calls, texting, and stopping by deceased

The garden I once posed in front of disappeared

“I don’t pose”

She smiled just like the flowers did

Her skin simmered in the warm summer day

In due time, she faded out of my memory

The camera I once held, dropped

The passion in her eyes faded

I couldn’t help but walk away

One day she will understand, I’m no good.
