"Flawless"

You may not like the skin on my bones,

With its folds and wrinkles,

Its bold curves and dips,

But I am Flawless.

You may not like the clothes on my back,

With their superhero logos and dull colors,

Or that my jeans fit a little large,

But I am Flawless.

You may not like my face,

Without makeup or perfume,

With just the bags under my eyes

To attest to my struggles,

But I am Flawless.

And you may not like my brain,

With its many facets,

Ideas and Thoughts,

Worries and Hopes and Dreams.

I may not fit with your standards of beauty,

Or your model of a perfect woman,

Or follow your favorite movie star’s crazy new diet.

So you can take your outdated ideas

Of beauty and perfection,

And shove them,

Because I am Flawless.
