flawless

once upon a couple hundred times,

the same story was read

and each time it was said

the girl was rescued by somebody else

prince charming, my knight

oh, my hero and my light

with you i will always be alright

but would i?

the sleeping beauty they called her

when we knew no one woke up

looking that flawless

was it thoughtless?

to tell little girls that men would rescue them

when they can rescue themselves

and not having to look perfect

in the process
