Flawless

Location

The flawless gems are the boring ones,

They may sparkle and shine but what makes them special,

Nothing.

For without flaw there can be nothing to strive for,

Nothing to compare with.

When you look at them they are all the same,

Perfect reflections of each other.

No character, no uniqueness.

It is the flawed gems that are better,

With their blemishes and scars.

When sunlight hits them rainbows occur

That tell their stories through their imperfections.

When people pass them, they can’t look away.

For it is their character that make them perfect,

Their uniqueness that makes them beautiful,

And their flaws that makes them flawless.

And I have many scars.
