Flawless

"flawless"

--we roll our eyes at the word

its implications

its possibility to make us seem pretentious

"flawless"

--most would not describe themselves as such

for they do not want to say they're perfect

not a perfect body, not a perfect personality, not perfect

"flawless"

--I do not think of it as perfection

several aspects of my life are flawless

the aching in my throat as I gasp for air from laughter

the burning in my thighs after hiking on a cold day

the tightness in my arms after hugging a friend tightly

"flawless"

--in its most literal sense, describes these moments

for they are free of flaws

I cannot find a single flaw within the times that I have felt

the happiest

the strongest

the most loved

the most flawless.
