Flawless Dancer

Flawless Dancer

The lights brighten and the curtain rises.

I stand motionless...

                         Shaking.

The music begins and my body sways,

Changing positions as if God himself

Was molding a clay figure.

My body moves without a second thought.

So effortless…

So light.

I feel my body express the story.

The night my family

Apart.

I move with such grace and such passion.

I feel the memories of that painful night

When I watched my dad drive out

Of my life

Flow through every shape.

Perfection…

Flawless movements come to an end.

The imagined applause fades in my head.

No one saw.

No one witnessed.

For I am a flawless dancer…

Performing for an empty garage.
