Flawless Even Under the Makeup

I brush my foundation on making sure I look flawless

I choose my shade of blush to place across my cheek

I meticulously fill in my eybrows

I concentrate on the winged tip at the end of my eyes

I make my eyelashes have just the right curl

I place highlights under my eyes

Finally, I put on lip stick carefully staying in the lines

A mess of brushes dancing across my face

Powders cluttering my vanity

All for what?

To enhance my beauty

Makeup doesn't make me

Underneath it is raw beauty

Makeup is only an art  to emphasize raw beauty

Only a coverup to few flaws

A scar from my childhood

The dark eyes from little sleep

And the lack of colors on your face

Makeup removes these flaws

Even though they aren't really flaws

These "flaws" are traits

Characteristics that make me who I am

So why do I put on makeup?

I love the art

The precise strokes

The shading of colors

There is no need for it

All it does is make me more beautiful

Everyone has raw beauty

Sometimes it just takes a look in the mirror

Before you put on the makeup
