Flawless Forever

I am flawless in the darkest of times

When my smile coats you with comfort

My extended hands hold you with care

My heart aches to surround you with its warmth

Even when the pain still consumes you

Flawless in my attempt to protect you from harm

Flawless in my search to shroud you from

the coldness of your own soul

Knowing that sometimes I will not reach you in the fog

of your mind

So then I sit flawless in my surrender.
