Flew to Close to the Sun

The saying goes
“Don’t fly to close to the sun”

You’ll only burn yourself in the end

It was just too good to be true

Isn’t that what they say?

Or did the luck

            Simply

           Just run out?

Scorching fire from the sun

Melts all your dreams away

As you fall farther,

Farther,

Farther

Down

Watching what you could have been

Slip

                        Through

Your

                        Fingers

Like the sands of time

                        Always reminding us

Tick, tick, tick

                        All you want is

Just one chance

To change your fate

Make something of yourself

But, one mistake

Seems to have cost it all
