The Flicker of the Light

It is day and it is night

It is darkness and it is light that battles throught the stormy night

Fire shatters bone and flesh in every sight

It is but a battle of the darkness and the light

Lights and whispers flicker in the burning night

Through the shadows comes a light

The end has come, the bells have rung

And it is but an everlasting night that creeps upon the flicker of the light.

Yet light emerges through, the trembling traveler comes home anew.

Poems have meaning. They tell a story and mine is no diffrent. For some it may be about a soldier who comes home after a war and can't escape the war even though it is over. For others it may even have religious context implied within. For me it is about an individual searching for a balance between good and evil, a path and a purpose in life that he/she is meant to lead. Poetry is just that, it is an artform that everyone may experience diffrently. Everyone sees a diffrent image of what it's supposed to be. Now I leave you, my fellow audience to reach deep inside yourself and decide what this poem means to you.
