Flight for a Moment

Awake, alive, running to have a chase;
Dim forest peels back branches binding light
Allowing shadows lurch across my face
As the feet reach to more ground for my flight

Then stop, all stops a second too soon now.
My head whirls, dazed, my pulse recedes from strong.
Infinity, to keep—I’m unsure how
To clearly grasp the song of a life long.

For the eye to caress what it sees;
Now a time to shut vision all away
As only to feel the beauty in soft breeze—
All other moments than this I betray.

Fresh life amidst the somber forest dance,
New reason to live life that takes a chance.
