The Floating Smile

I'm alone, On a road that has been swept away, With only the spot I stand upon left. A dark night is coming, Scary creatures haunt the woods, I wander away to a tree, Scared for my life. A smile is there, A smile floating in air, But soon stripes appear, Purple then pink, A tail and head. Finally a face to surround the smile. My dear friend Cheshire Cat, He has come to play! His teasing grin, Ever mocking. He sings me a song, To cheer my dying mood, Of sweet things in dreams, Knights in armor, And a queen, A red queen.
