Floorboards

I walked back and  forth through the floor bored of my mind, its and endless hardwood floor each path lead to a darker end, where the lights just stop glowing  where it is  the darkest night in the middle of the forest with no city light,

There was not even the moon shine to show a path,  eventually I just stood there, I tried to build a fire but there was nothing. . Nothing I can use to even structure a fire, I just stand there curious, will there ever be enough support to even find a dime of light?  The answer I knew lay deep in my heart. Knowing the floorboards were sturdy but I needed to find a light.

The light where the song birds sang in that great old oak tree on the hill. I crave to one day see the sunrise with my own eyes. The feeling of freedom i've longly strived for,

I knew I had to dust my old black boots off  and to start pulling them on my feet, I finally understood  I couldn't stay in that hallway for long where the darkness grew. I looked down and I saw the stairs, never grapsed . All I ever  needed to do  is to put my head low to see what laid underneath me. I had always assumed those  old floorboards were sturdy but now I am aware  they were only there to bring  me comfort.
