Flourish

Because I love you,

We drive by the seasons in a blink of an eye.

but then again I love you

so the time meticulously ticks and I can count the seconds going by.

Because I love you,

the truth hurts.

but we tell each other what's right because we don't want to go wrong

and so many things go wrong.

can go wrong.

did go wrong.

will go wrong.

But you taught me,

I mean,

love taught me,

that love is holding each other during the storm

that love is sitting in silence because you're upset but still enjoying my presence.

that love is allowing you to water my plant because I'm too busy watering yours.

Because I love you,

I want to grow old with you.

To see you cry

To see you smile

To see you pass

To see you fail

I want to say I was there because that is all that matters.

Sometimes I'm off on vacation and I forget to water my plants.

They wither in the dark and become stale in the cold.

But there you are,

opening the blinds,

and pouring water for my plant.

all because you love me.
