The Flow

I never thought I would be here

Learning how to let go of expectations and refraining from making decisions out of fear

I’m uncomfortable, but I can’t complain

I know that things can’t always stay the same

Nor should they

Life is about change

I had to learn to accept what is, instead of what I thought it should be

Sometimes I seek clarity for the things I cannot see

But, I know that what’s meant to be will never miss me

I realized this when my circle of friends got smaller

I got smarter

I can sense things I couldn’t before

I didn’t want to accept that things weren’t the same anymore

But, now I know I had to grow

I had to neglect situations that were straining, draining, not worth sustaining

I had to get uncomfortable, otherwise I never would’ve moved

Nonetheless, I can say I have improved

I focus on what’s best for me, rather than who others think I should be

I keep positive vibes, and am attentive to who I allow into my tribe

So far, things have worked out for the better

Now I know

Sometimes, it’s better to just go with the flow
