Flower

The flower planted long ago

Has reached its bitter end

No longer is it beautiful

It’s withered now and gone

The petals fell more frequently

When frost came to its stem

The ground grew far too hard and cold

But still its seeds live on.

The seeds of love will germinate

As spring comes to its peak

The warmth that winter left behind

Is coming back with force

And once again, a flower lives

In ground where frost once ruled

As water melts from ice to dew

And follows nature’s course.
