Flower Amidst

Oh, Anguish, why, around every corner, down every hallway of hope, do you lurk in the shadows waiting to prey on this one last glimmer, this last sliver of happiness. As I stare out onto this new home of mine, you creep, once again, into the depths of my mind, now consumed by you, an immense abyss showing no signs of what once was. To elude this Darkness, to evade its despair, I delve into memories of happiness, hold onto the remains, of what once was but shall never be again. Never shall be again so long as you repress the pleasure of the past. But escape is short-lived and soon I am wandering the hallways, now hopeless and desperate Oh, Anguish, you have swallowed all that I have loved, destroyed all that I have longed for, but as I am immersed into the abyss, a faint glow from about, the dawn of a new beginning. As I near, the memories and happiness of what once was come streaming back, An old happiness brought on by an unknown presence. Its beauty, its tranquility, its unexplainable sense of familiarity. An answer to my prayers, A beautiful Flower amidst the diminishing despair.
