A Flower in August

It was a breeze in May It was an open flame I was the one to blame It was how you said your name It was rain in June I said I'd see you soon It was the sun and the moon It as a hot air balloon It was fireworks in July It was a cloudless sky It as a white lie It was you and I It was a flower in August The merry-go-round it spun us There was nothing left between us Besides this empty room full of dust It was a birthday in September It was just as you remembered It was over by December Had I ever even known her?
