The Flower You Were

Wed, 11/15/2017 - 13:33 -- Ren18

You were like the Balloon Flowers.

You bloomed beautifully and were resilient in everything you did.

I learned from you how to be strong and stand my ground.

You were like the asters.

You were my star and brightened up my day

when I was sad or stressed out.

You were my haven and always made me feel okay.

You were like the Black-eyed Susans.

You always stayed inside, but

attracted all of us to you when we need some strength.

You were the glue that held us all together.

You were like the Geraniums.

You thrived when things got tough,

yet you always managed to show a deep care for us

by always just being there when we needed it the most.

You were like a beautiful flower.

But then you were attacked by a terrible cancer

and suddenly, you were gone.

You were taken away by a disease that attacked so many more.

It was time I did something about it.
