flowerbruises
There are bruises,
blue as van gogh’s irises,
burnt onto my skin,
with charcoal smudges
kissed around the edges.
There are bruises,
the thumbprint of secrets
typed to the surface;
my skin,
a notepad for numbness,
the staining of sorrow.
